Phila.-area gas prices down 1 cent Posted on August 27th
Prices at the pump have leveled off or declined overnight, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic.
The average for a gallon of regular no-lead was down a cent, to $3.61, in the five-county Philadelphia area.
South Jersey’s average also was down a cent, to $3.37.
The national average, however, remained at $3.67.
According to AAA Mid-Atlantic, Alaska had the nation’s highest average was at $4.55; Missouri was the lowest at $3.42.
Diesel prices also were mixed: The average in the Philadelphia area was down 3 cents, to $4.49, and in South Jersey was down 2 cents, to $4.13.
But the national diesel average was unchanged, at $4.28.
Light, sweet crude rose $1.53 a barrel to $117.80 on the New York Mercantile Exchange on worries that Tropical Storm Gustav might hit Gulf of Mexico installations, the Associated Press reported.
